COVER around the sheds andrew chapman buy onlineAndrew Chapman’s book “Around the Sheds” is a photographic collection of woolsheds and shearing culture from right around Australia.

“It’s been a lot of travelling; I’ve done about 25,000 kilometres over the last twelve months,” Andrew says.

Andrew Chapman’s stunning new photographic book captures the memories, the people and the stories surrounding Australian woolsheds.

The Jones Woolshed in York bought Andrew to the Wheatbelt where he met some local characters whose stories feature in the book.

He says the images often take people back to being a child on a farm, “they talk about the memories of helping out their dad or uncle in the shearing shed when they were a kid and it just brings back all those memories.”

With more and more Western Australian farmers moving out of the sheep industry, empty woolsheds make poignant photographs.

“A lot of these sheds are facing the mark of time, they’re really at the end of their used by date and it’s probably a little bit sad in a way… there’s certainly an older generation left holding on to a lot of farms I think, maybe the younger kids are away working on the mines.”

From Andrew Chapman, the best-selling author of Woolsheds, comes a stunning new photographic book exploring the world around the sheds, the shearers, the roustabouts, the dogs, the dunnies and the sheds themselves.
