Roof pitch is the steepness of a roof, expressed as the angle, in degrees, that its surface deviates from the horizontal. But what does this mean? In basic terms, The roof pitch is the angle of your roof sheet (measured in degrees) at the point your shed roof crosses your shed walls.

Most of our Retroseal roof products at The ShedBlog require you to know your roof pitch so we can accurately bend your products to ensure the best fit and seal possible! Without this information, there is a good chance the products will not seal as well. We could explain the mathematical theorem required to break down and calculate the roof pitch, but we decided to create a handy roof pitch calculator to take the hard work out for you! All you need to do is find the right angle triangle that is right there, on your shed.

Calculate Your Roof Pitch Here

All you need to know is your Rise and Run (or Span) and our calculator will do the rest!

The RISE is the vertical distance between the top of your wall sheets and the top of your roof.
The RUN is the horizontal distance between your wall sheet and the ridge (centre) of your gable roof. If you have a Skillion roof, the Run and span are the same thing.
The SPAN is the horizontal distance from wall to wall across your shed.
