Details of this Shed
Building Class – 1a
Weight – Approximately: 11200.00 kg
Span – Main Building: 9 m
Length – 15 m (3 Bays of 5 m each)
Height – 6 m
Roof Type – Gable, 22.5 degrees
Roof – COLORBOND® steel CORODEK® 0.42 BMT sheeting, BlueScope
Walls & Trims – COLORBOND® steel TRIMCLAD® 0.42 BMT sheeting, BlueScope
Gutters – MONUMENT® GUTTER-01. We have calculated the number of [Supplied by Others] downpipes required for: Left Side = 3. Right Side = 3.
Roller Doors – One (1) COLORBOND® steel 4.2m high x 5m wide roller door (with 1 motorised unit (Grifco LR Drive (or similar) with battery backup, 2 remote handpieces?and a wireless wall control), roller door is wind rated). Refer to the General Specification (# Access Doors) in relation to opening sizes. The Roller Door is boxed or steel wrapped for protection during transport. Refer to the Building information for details on Industrial Door Handing.
PA Doors – One (1) 920mm wide Double skin pre-hung door with COLORBOND® steel® steel facings and fold-down vertical sides for strength and appearance. Powder coated welded LHS frame. Supplied with a Lever/Lever entrance set. 180 degrees opening and reversible handing;
Vermin Flashing – Metal Vermin Flashing has been included to the perimeter of the building excluding any openings.
Solar Panels – Your building has been designed to allow for the loads of a future installation of Solar Panels (by others). The information you have provided is that you require the maximum number of panels on your building. We calculate that you can fit 126 panels on your new steel building. This is typically 44.7kW of Solar Panels. You can of course
also put panels on your home or other suitably designed structures to get the maximum benefit from your investment. We have engineered the building for panels to be placed on both sides of the main building and on both the left and right lean to.
Open Bays – Three (3) 5m open bays – along the sides of the steel building. Refer to Layout (attached) for location & height clearances.
Bracing – The building will have Knee and Apex braces. Clearances are subject to the engineer’s final design requirements. Estimated internal knee clearances are: Main Building 4.779m. Estimated internal apex clearance is: 6.816m. Fly Bracing is a U shape to allow for internal linings. Side Walls bracing will be supplied as cable.
Left Lean-to
Span – 6m
Drop – No drop
Pitch – 10 degrees
Length – Starting bay 1 for 3 bays
Height of External Lean-to wall – 4.94m
Leanto is fully sheeted.
Right Lean-to
Span – 5m
Drop – No drop
Pitch – 6 degrees
Length – Starting bay 1 for 3 bays
Height of External Lean-to wall – 5.47m
Three (3) 5m open bays – along the sides of the leanto. Four (4) 2.5m open bays on the ends of the leanto. Refer to Layout (attached) for location & height clearances.
Mezzanine – Three (3) bays, starting at bay One (1). Height under joist to be 3m, with a clearance under the bearer of 2.7m. Steel bearers and joists only. Bearers supported by Two (2) mid columns. Stairs, balustrading and timber flooring supplied by others. Allowable floor load is 3.0kPa uniformly distributed. 300kg/m2 uniformly distributed.
Roof Purlins & Wall Girts – Z sections bolted to rafters & columns with a minimum overlap of 10% of the bay width.
Fixing to Concrete – Screw-Bolts fitted after concrete is cured.
Site Design Specifications
Site – Southern TAS 7140 Australia
NCC Version – NCC 2022
Design Wind Criteria for the Highest Cardinal Direction – Importance Level 2 with a Vr of 45.00 m/s ; Region A3; TC = 2.02; Mt = 1; Mc = 1; Ms = 1.0; giving a Vdes of 42.4 m/s.
Snow Load – Snow loading has been allowed for a site with a maximum AHD of 354.14m in the Tasmania for a sub alpine site.
Earthquake – An Earthquake Acceleration Co-efficient (Z) of up to 0.08 has been allowed for in the design of the building, however wind is the determining design factor. Any plasterboard must be articulated in accordance with ASNZS 1170.4:2007 and the requirements of the NCC: 2022.
