ShedBlog is pleased to announce that we are now supplying Australian-made steel wall framing manufactured by Lysaght and Stramit.

Our new range includes steel studs, top and bottom plates, and noggings suitable for a wide variety of internal shed projects.

Steel wall framing can be used to:

  • Frame in rooms underneath mezzanine floors
  • Build offices, lunchrooms and storage areas inside sheds
  • Create bathrooms, toilets and change rooms
  • Divide workshops into separate working areas
  • Provide a straight fixing surface for plasterboard or Gyprock
  • Frame the complete interior of a shed house or shouse

Steel framing is straight, lightweight, termite-resistant and will not shrink, twist or warp like some timber framing. It also creates useful wall cavities for insulation, plumbing, electrical wiring and other building services.

Customers can select framing manufactured by either of two recognised Australian steel suppliers:

You can also view the complete range on our Steel Wall Framing category page.

The correct framing size and thickness will depend on the height of the wall, the lining material and how the finished room will be used. Internal partition framing should not be assumed to support a mezzanine or another part of the shed unless it has been specifically designed for that purpose.

Whether you are enclosing the space beneath a mezzanine, adding a bathroom to a workshop or lining the entire interior of your shed, steel wall framing provides a simple and durable place to start.
