Details of this Shed

Building Class – 10 A non-habitable building or structure. (Refer NCC A6G11)
Weight – Approximately: 5,900 kg
Span – Main Building: 10 metres
Length – 20 metres (5 Bays of 4 metres each)
Height – 3 metres
Roof Type – Gable, 15 degree pitch
Roof – COLORBOND® steel CORODEK® 0.42 BMT (0.47TCT) sheeting, BlueScope
Walls & Trims – COLORBOND® steel TRIMCLAD® 0.42 BMT (0.47TCT) sheeting, BlueScope
Roller Doors – Four (4) COLORBOND® steel 2.6m high x 2.6m wide roller doors (with 4 motorised unit (GDO-6 V3 (or similar) with 2 remote handpieces), roller door is wind rated). Refer to the General Specification (# Access Doors) in relation to opening sizes. The Roller Doors are boxed or steel wrapped for protection during transport.
Window Openings – Materials to frame up for window opening(s) including a header flashing to suit Four (4) 2100h x1800w glass sliding doors and Eleven (11) 900h x1200w windows (the supply of windows is NOT included). NOTE: 2 windows have bracing across them as shown by an X on each affected window on the attached layout plan. Depending on the layout of the internal walls some or all of this bracing can be removed by reallocating the bracing requirement to the internal walls. This design will need to be done by others
Insulation – Lightweight 50-60mm Insulated Roofing Blanket, or equivalent performance specification. Insulation is a glass wool blanket with a reinforced laminated thermofoil face to one side. (Performance specification (R Value) change dependent on the ventilation. Insulation to the roof of the main building. Safety wire is provided to the roof area only.
Solar Panels – Your building has been designed to allow for the loads of a future installation of Solar Panels (by others). The information you have provided is that you require the maximum number of panels on your building. We calculate that you can fit 114 panels on your new steel building. This is typically 40.5kW of Solar Panels. You can of course also put panels on your home or other suitably designed structures to get the maximum benefit from your investment. We have engineered the building for panels to be placed on both sides of the main building and on the right lean to.
Bracing – The building will have Knee and Apex braces. Clearances are subject to the engineer’s final design requirements. Estimated internal knee clearances are: Main Building 2.195m. Estimated internal apex clearance is: 3.622m. Side Walls bracing will be supplied as cable.
Right Lean-to
Span – 4m
Drop – No drop
Pitch – 6 degrees
Length – Starting bay 1 for 5 bays
Height of External Lean-to wall – 2.58m
Five (5) 4m open bays – along the sides of the leanto. Two (2) 4m open bays on the ends of the leanto. Refer to Layout (attached) for location & height clearances.
Roof Purlins & Wall Girts – Z sections bolted to rafters & columns with a minimum overlap of 10% of the bay width.
Fixing to Concrete – Screw-Bolts fitted after concrete is cured.

Site Design Specifications

Site – Eastern NSW 2333 Australia
NCC Version – NCC 2022
Design Wind Criteria  for the Highest Cardinal Direction – Importance Level 2 with a Vr of 45 m/s; Region A2; TC = 2.5; Mt = 1; Mc = 1; Ms = 1.0; giving a Vdes of 39.2 m/s.
Earthquake – An Earthquake Acceleration Co-efficient (Z) of up to 0.08 has been allowed for in the design of the building, however wind is the determining design factor.
Other Design Factors – No Snow Loading allowed
